Champions Lautoka fought tooth and nail to overcome a spirited Nadroga outfit 3-2 in Round 12 of the Digicel Fiji Premier League at Churchill Park today.
The Blues opened the scoring with a penalty from marksman Sairusi Nalubu.
Nadroga quickly responded with a goal from Ravinesh Reddy, but Lautoka took the lead again through Aporosa Yada.
Saula Waqa extended Lautoka’s lead with a well-placed header from a cross by Muni Shivam.
Nadroga narrowed the gap with a penalty from national striker Rusiate Matarerega.
Despite numerous chances from both sides, the match concluded with a narrow victory for Lautoka.
Lautoka, after the win moves to the third spot with 19 points while Nadroga remains seventh with 14 points.
