Ezri Konsa, who had a “magical experience” during his entire tournament debut, is sure that England can win it all at Euro 2024.
In Saturday’s quarterfinal victory against Switzerland, the Villa defender made an impression in replacing the suspended Marc Guehi. Now, he hopes to hold onto his starting position when Gareth Southgate’s team plays the Netherlands tomorrow in hopes of advancing to the final.
After the match proceeded to penalties, Konsa said the result against the Swiss was “never in doubt” and that the Three Lions had the courage to advance even farther.
It is up to us, he stated. “I’m confident we can win it all if we keep up that spirit and unity.”
He remarked, “It was a magical experience, something I’d dreamed about as a kid.” “I appreciate the gaffer including me in the games; I’ve wanted to play in them.” The important thing is that we prevailed. We prevailed in today’s highly emotional game, nevertheless.
The match ended 1-1 after extra time, but England finally won 5-3 in the shootout.
“It was never in doubt (about the penalties), especially with the boys who took them,” Konsa went on. They exuded confidence.
Since you never know, it was something we had been working on for a long. We were prepared if it came to that, and it was evident how well things went.
