Once approved, the acquisition will bolster the Men in Black as they seek to expand their midfield options, according to Ba President Azam Ali. Furthermore, Ali verified to FijiLive that two young, talented individuals had been signed. Isimeli Gavidi, a 17-year-old midfielder from Lautoka who is now with the Fiji U19 team, is going to join his local team, Ba.
It is highly expected that Gavidi, the grandson of Ba football great Meli Vuilabasa, will join Ba and carry on his grandfather’s legacy.
The last stages of talks between Ba and Penaia Naqatalevu, a 17-year-old Tavua striker and Gavidi’s U19 Fiji teammate, are underway.
His transfer is expected to be confirmed soon, adding another young talent to Ba’s forward line.
Ali also addressed rumors about Ba players Rahul Naresh and Raj Pillay, who were reportedly targeted by Suva officials.
He confirmed that both players will remain with Ba and that no players are leaving the district.
