Discipline issues cost the Bula Boys.

The Bula Boys lost 2-1 against Tahiti this afternoon, which meant they finished fourth in the OFC Men’s Nations Cup. Fiji’s lack of discipline paid them dearly, as the Tahitians mounted a thrilling comeback to win bronze.

After coming onto the field in the second half, captain Roy Krishna scored the first goal in the 58th minute by launching the ball past the Tahiti goalkeeper.

But in the seventieth minute, Tahiti’s skipper, Teaonui Tehau, equalized. Nine minutes later, Tehau sealed the win for Tahiti with a strong free-kick right outside the penalty area.

In this game, Etonia Dogalau, Lekima Gonerau, and Filipe Baravilala of Fiji were given yellow cards.
