Chelsea offers Chalobah as part of a trade and wants Murillo from Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea intends to increase their chances of acquiring Murillo by putting Trevoh Chalobah in a bid for the defender from Nottingham Forest. Even though Chelsea already has six center backs in their lineup, Enzo Maresca has made Murillo a target, and Forest may have to struggle to hold onto the 21-year-old. The Brazilian is drawing praise after having an outstanding first season in England. He went to the City Ground from Corinthians last summer. Chelsea has discussed sending Chalobah to Forest and has made preliminary enquiries about Murillo, who may cost up to £70 million.

Chalobah is available for purchase. He can play right back or center back. In light of the Premier League’s sustainability and profitability rules, Chelsea would benefit from selling the defender because the money earned for academy products shows up in the books as pure profit. Sunday is the accounting deadline. It’s unclear, though, if Chalobah would be amenable to joining Forest. The 24-year-old wants to sign with a team that will accept his terms, despite the fact that there is fierce competition for spots in Chelsea’s defense. With the addition of Tosin Adarabioyo to Chelsea’s roster on a free transfer, along with the availability of Benoît Badiashile, Axel Disasi, Wesley Fofana, and Levi Colwill, Chalobah’s departure became more likely.

Though Manchester United is keeping an eye on Chalobah, he would rather play for a team in Europe. Last season, Forest fought to avoid relegation. They could be open to offers for Murillo since they are under pressure not to violate PSR. But Forest will make money by selling Moussa Niakhaté to Lyon.

Due to their violation of the Premier League’s PSR regulations, Leicester could lose points, thus it’s believed that a significant sale would help them. Dewsbury-Hall is a product of the academy. Ben Godfrey is being pursued by Atalanta and Lyon, the champions of the Europa League, with the Everton defender expected to sign a contract with the Serie A team for approximately €10 million. Godfrey, who cost £25 million to sign with Everton from Norwich in 2020, will see his contract expire at Goodison Park in the summer and hasn’t been able to lock down his preferred center defender position under Sean Dyche. The 26-year-old has had an offer from Lyon of about £12.7 million for Everton, but it’s believed that Atalanta, who will play in the Champions League the next season, is his preferred team.

A sale before the end of this month will help Everton with their Premier League profitability and sustainability targets. The club insist they are under no pressure to sell Manchester United target Jarrad Branthwaite and will not countenance a cut-price offer for the England international.
