Rewa coach Roderick Singh says he is satisfied with his team’s performance after securing a 2-2 draw against the semi- professional Auckland City.
Considering the disparity in professional status between the two teams, Singh commended the effort his players displayed.
“What else can you expect from a team coming from Fiji given the standard situations to play against a team like Auckland City.”
“This is what Rewa could do, and I cannot ask for more from the boys. I thank them for the effort they put in throughout the entire 96 minutes,” he added.
Singh also explained the tactical approach that helped them secure the draw.
We wanted to observe the pace first and then rectify and hit them in the second half, and it worked,” he said.
“It all comes down to understanding the game plan and how the opposing team plays, and adjusting to it.”
In an emotional note, Singh extended Mother’s Day wishes to all mothers in Fiji,
“Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers in Fiji. I know everyone was expecting us to win, but this is what we could give. I hope you guys are happy with it,” Singh concluded.
