Lautoka FC wins Battle of Cities

In an exciting Round 8 match of the Digicel Fiji Premier League, Lautoka defeated Flick Suva 4-2 at the Fiji FA headquarters in Vatuwaqa today.
In the sixth minute, Lautoka’s captain Sitiveni Cavuilagi gave them the lead with a goal. In the eleventh minute, Sakaraia Naisua doubled the lead.

Suva had multiple scoring opportunities, but they had trouble turning them into goals.
Merril Nand’s goal in the 19th minute made Suva’s perseverance worthwhile as it cut the deficit to 2-1.

But Cavuilagi answered immediately, scoring his second goal of the game in the twenty-fourth minute, bringing Lautoka’s advantage to 3-1 at the half.
When Suva’s Dave Radrigai converted a penalty kick to make it 3-2 in the second half, he effectively narrowed the score.

However, Muni Shivam Naidu gave goalkeeper Hasmukh Patel absolutely no chance at all to secure the deal for Lautoka with a superb free-kick strike from outside the box.

Nonetheless, Muni Shivam Naidu sealed the deal for Lautoka with a spectacular free-kick goal from outside the box giving goalkeeper Hasmukh Patel no chance at all.

The loss pushes Suva in bottom two in the standing with 5 points while Lautoka remains seventh but now has 10 points.
